We were both really happy with the results.

Portrait Photography in Dublin
Producing these environmental portraits of Nancy Robinson was both a pleasure and a challenge! We had very little daylight with which to work and Nancy made me laugh so much, that it was difficult for me to keep the camera still!

Headshot Photography in Dublin
Here are examples of the variety of "looks" that can be produced during a head shot photography session.
Using a mix of natural light and flash, this portrait session with Cillian Dore lasted less than an hour.

Lauralynn House is one year old!
I can hardly believe that Lauralynn House - Ireland's First Children's Hospice - is one year old!
The opening by then President Mary McAleese in September of last year was the culmination of the efforts of a great many people, but especially those of Jane & Brendan McKenna, founders of the Lauralynn Children's Hospice charity in memory of their daughters Laura and Lynn.
In the first year, the staff of this wonderful facility have provided support and care for over 100 families of seriously ill children and have helped, to use Jane McKenna's words "put life into a child’s day".
Amazingly, the hospice still receives no state funding and survives on the generosity of donations and the success of fundraising.

One of the most remarkable fundraisers is Fran O'Brien who with her husband Arthur has raised over €150,000 by donating all of the proceeds from her novels to Lauralynn house. Fran is pictured here with Jane McKenna, founder of Lauralynn Children's Hospice, at the launch of her 6th novel, "Fairfields". You can buy Fairfields at most major bookstores or online here.

Recent editorial and pr photography
I've been producing a variety of editorial and pr photography over the past few months. Here are just a few of the images!
Claire Loftus, Ireland's Director of Public Prosecutions was photographed speaking at an event in the Kings Inns. Yes, I know that this means a (photographic) file with my name on it, was sent to the office of the DPP!
Paul Lynam, CEO of Siemens Ireland and Dave Kirwan, Managing Director of Bord Gáis Energy announced a project partnership at Croke Park.
There was plenty of colour at the Eucharistic Congress in the RDS although Cardinal Brady is pictured in a more contemplative mood!
Dan O'Brien, Economics Editor of the Irish Times was photographed for eolas.
Finally, the tall ships came to town and put a smile back on all of our faces!

Coast - Blackrock Baths - Co Dublin
The diving platform at Blackrock baths has made frequent appearances in my "Coast" project. So, it was with a hint of sadness, that I learned that the platform, along with a substantial part of the baths, is to be demolished as being unsafe.
According to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, the baths "have suffered from extensive weather damage and from the ravages of the sea.... making the structures and adjoining land dangerous for members of the public”. Built in the mid 19th century, the baths had a 50m pool and could accommodate up to 1,000 spectators. The baths soon became derelict after they closed in the mid 1980s.
These images were produced this summer, during the early morning mists that can envelop Blackrock, - before an all too infrequent "fine summers day!"
"Coast" is an ongoing environmental photographic project, which examines how the sea interacts with man made structures.

Editorial Portraits
Irish scientist, Dr. Emmeline Hill. From a recent editorial portrait shoot commissioned by "The Scientist" magazine. Dr. Hill's research has identified a “speed gene” in thoroughbred racehorses. Among a variety of uses, this means that a racehorse can now be genetically tested to assess their future potential.
